Quantum Canada Open Doors

The Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) celebrated Quantum Canada: Open Doors 2025, a coast-to-coast-to coast initiative celebrating Canada’s leadership in quantum science and technology. As part of the United Nations’ International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ), the day-long event brought quantum to life for Canadians everywhere on May 3, 2025.

For decades, Canada has been at the forefront of quantum research and innovation, pioneering breakthroughs that have shaped the global quantum landscape. Quantum Canada: Open Doors 2025 saw at least 12 Canadian physics organizations unite to offer free public programming Saturday, May 3, to celebrate quantum science and showcase their work to the public. From lab tours to public lectures and hands-on activities, this nationwide celebration highlighted Canada’s quantum achievements, engage communities, and helped inspire the next generation of quantum innovators.
